The Artisans

Every carpet in this shop was made by someone we have met

There is no wholesaler between these 14 workshops and our floor. We travel to them, we buy what they have finished, and we put their name on it — which is why you will find a person rather than a country on every label.

How we buy

The trade has a long habit of paying weavers last and least. These are the three rules we will not bend, and we are happy to be held to them.

The register

Longest at the loom first. Where a weaver appears twice it is because they work across two towns, not two workshops.
