Count the knots yourself
This piece is woven at 200 knots per square inch, which works out at roughly 685,101 knots in total — every one tied by hand by Gulbadan Rahmani, over 6 months.
Magnify past 13× and the field stops being a picture and becomes what it actually is: rows of individual knots, each one a decision about colour made at a particular moment.
