Hand-knotted by the Qashqai nomadic peoples of Southern Iran, this magnificent rug measures 270 cm × 171 cm and carries all the fiery spirit and bold artistry of its makers. Woven entirely from wool — a sturdy, enduring foundation beneath a rich, deeply coloured pile — it features three commanding medallions marching down a vivid crimson field, framed by midnight black borders brimming with tribal symbols, geometric flowers and protective motifs.
